WWII Strategist, Morristown Resident Of 52 Years Dies At 96
Kathleen Woodford has 11 great-grandchildren.

MORRISTOWN, N.J. – Kathleen Kelly Woodford was an intelligent woman who accomplished a great amount in her life.
Woodford died recently at the age of 96.
Born in Glasgow, Scotland, Woodford moved to the United States at the age of four. After high school, she was awarded a scholarship to Pembroke College, now known as Brown University, where she met her future husband Philip Stanley Woodford.

Woodford graduated in 1942 and joined the Office of Strategic Services in Washington, D.C. where she worked alongside Ludwig Homberger, former Finance Minister for the Riechsbahn.
The team mapped all the railroads in Nazi-occupied Europe and identified the location of Nazi-run factories producing war material as targets for Allied bombers.

Woodford was a devoted Catholic and attended Mass daily into her 90s. She is predeceased by her husband, Philip, in 1994, four brothers and a sister.
She is survived by six children, 11 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to the Monastery of the Most Blessed Virgin Mary of Mount Carmel, Morristown, NJ.
