Authorities Seek Help Solving Pair of Newark Homicides

Essex County prosecutor asks public's help with two unsolved fatal shootings from 2013.

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office seeks the public's help to solve two unsolved 2013 Newark homicides.

Authorities are looking for leads into the killing of Damon Williams, 35, of Newark, who was shot dead at about 7 p.m. on April 28, 2013 in the area of 682 Sanford Ave., the prosecutor's office said.

The fatal shooting of Suton Rasheed-Ali Jones, 29, at about 4:45 a.m. on Oct. 13, 2013 in the area of South Orange Avenue and South 10th Street also remains unsolved.

Authorities ask anyone with information on either one of these homicides to contact the Essex County Prosecutor’s Homicide Task Force at 973-621-4586 or the prosecutor’s tip line at 1-877-847-7432.
