NEWARK, NJ - Bessie Green Community Inc. recently received a $1,000 grant from Investors Bank Foundation in Newark, NJ. The grant will help further the mission of feeding, clothing and supporting our neighbors with compassion and dignity with resources to reduce food insecurity during the COVD-19 pandemic.
“We are grateful to Investors Bank Foundation for their continued support in collaboration with Bessie Green to expand the impact in the community and in the lives of the families we serve daily,” said Ms. Brenda Scott, Executive Director of Bessie Green Community Inc.

Bessie Green Community Inc provides a holistic approach to social service assistance in the community that ensures self-sustainability in our clients. We stand out from other organizations serving a similar population in our area with friendly and proactive staff to provide food, clothing, diapers, toiletries, children’s books and a social worker to provide additional assistance (housing, rental assistance, utilities and needed benefits) to our clients.
Grant funds will be used to purchase fruits and vegetables for families, senior citizens who are shut-in due to COVID-19 and Covid-19 affected families and individuals not eligible for traditional means of benefits
