Couple Found Dead a Murder-Suicide, Prosecutor Says
The bodies of Ana Luisa Peralta De Fermin, 46, and her husband, Alberto Fermin-Alomar, 52, were found late Saturday afternoon.
A couple found dead Saturday afternoon in a Lincoln Avenue home was an apparent murder-suicide, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said.
The bodies were identified as Ana Luisa Peralta De Fermin, 46, and her husband, Alberto Fermin-Alomar, 52. The victims were pronounced dead at the scene at 5:56 p.m. Saturday.
A preliminary investigation revealed Fermin-Alomar shot his wife and then himself, the prosecutor's office said.
Officers found the bodies when they responded to the 100 block of Lincoln Avenue for a report of an injured person at about 5:30 p.m. Saturday.
The matter is being investigated by the Essex County Prosecutor's Major Crimes Task Force, which includes detectives from the Newark Police Department.
