Jake Reynolds to oversee all business, revenue, strategy and operations for the Devils after serving previously as CRO for HBSE

NEWARK, NJ – The New Jersey Devils have named Jake Reynolds as president of the organization and will assume Hugh Weber’s role with the organization, the team announced this week. In his new role, Reynolds will oversee all business, revenue, strategy and operations for the Devils after serving previously as Chief Revenue Officer for Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment, the ownership group of the hockey team.
Meanwhile, Weber, who has served as president of the Devils and Prudential Center since HBSE acquired the franchise in August 2013, will assume an elevated leadership role within ownership group. He will play an integral role in the positioning and structure of the organization for its next phase of growth.
“Given the continued expansion of our organization, this was an opportune time to lift two incredible and deserving executives into bigger and wider roles,” explained Scott O’Neil, CEO of Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment. “Both Jake and Hugh are tremendous leaders possessing a wide array of experience and expertise across the sports and entertainment ecosystem.”

Reynolds has played a key role in some of HBSE’s most innovative initiatives, including the 76ers and StubHub’s groundbreaking ticketing platform. He expressed sheer excitement for his upcoming challenge in the organization.
“Following one of the most dynamic summers in the NHL, it is an honor and I am incredibly excited to lead the front office for such a historic and iconic brand as the New Jersey Devils,” Reynolds suggested. “As an organization, we are committed to building a fan-first culture and generating a best-in-class experience that produces the greatest home-ice advantage in the NHL and brings a fourth Stanley Cup back to New Jersey. I’m excited for our fans and entire organization as we prepare to drop the puck on one of the most anticipated seasons in recent franchise history.”

Throughout Weber’s tenure with the organization, he has had an invigorating impact on the New Jersey Devils and Prudential Center’s business, culture and community investment. Both O’Neil and Weber were key architects in designing HBSE’s original corporate structure, while aligning and positioning the portfolio of global sports and entertainment properties for future expansion.
In his season opening address on Friday evening before the team’s preseason game against the New York Rangers, Devils managing partner Josh Harris said that the Devils were among the Top 5 most improved teams over the last year in season ticket sales.
There is much more buzz around the Devils this year than any other season in recent memory and rightfully so. The acquisitions of playmakers and established veterans this offseason catapult the team into playoff contenders on the ice. Meanwhile, off the ice, the chips are falling into place for continued growth in the business and community development side of the organization.
