Devils Pay It Forward; Donate 10,000 Tickets to Healthcare Heroes
New Jersey Devils announce donation of 10,000 tickets and new social media campaign 'Stick Taps at 7' to salute frontline healthcare workers

NEWARK, NJ – In honor of National Nurses Week, the New Jersey Devils announced this week a donation of 10,000 tickets for the 2020-21 season to RWJBarnabas healthcare workers as well as a “Pay It Forward” season ticket member and plan holder donation program. The team made the announcement through an 80-second tribute video to front-line healthcare workers.
The Devils also launched a new social media tribute ‘Stick Taps at 7’ featuring players, alumni, coaches, and management honoring healthcare workers with video messages of encouragement to show their appreciation.
“Each passing day we are filled with more gratitude for frontline healthcare workers who continue to dedicate themselves to help the residents of New Jersey, and we are humbled and honored to show our appreciation for them with these new team initiatives,” New Jersey Devils President Jake Reynolds said in a statement. “We are proud to stand alongside our partners, RWJBarnabas Health, as we salute frontline workers whose strength and resilience mirrors the determination of our New Jersey communities, our players and our Devils family.”

As part of the team’s “Pay it Forward” program, the Devils have pledged to donate an additional pair of tickets to RWJBarnabas healthcare workers in conjunction with Season Ticket and Plan Members who push credits forward to the 2020-21 season. Through the team’s partnership with RWJBarnabas, healthcare providers will receive tickets from the Devils 10,000-ticket gift and “Pay it Forward” program.
This initiative of giving back to healthcare workers piggybacks off of last month’s announcement in which the team’s managing partners Josh Harris and David Blitzer pledged a generous six-figure donation to RWJBarnabas Health's Emergency Response Fund.

Devils players and alumni also made their annual holiday hospital visits in December to provide moral support to young patients and staff showing their commitment to the healthcare community before the viral pandemic.

“We are incredibly appreciative of the Devils commitment to donate tickets to RWJBarnabas Health frontline workers and their families, as they are the selfless, dedicated heroes during this critical time,” said Barry H. Ostrowsky, President and Chief Executive Officer of RWJBarnabas Health, the official healthcare provider of the Devils. “Josh Harris, David Blitzer and the entire Devils organization have offered tremendous support to our entire system and I am sure our frontline staff can’t wait to cheer on the Devils when they are back on the ice.”
