FICO Holds Free Virtual Financial Education Event for Newark
On Thursday, May 20 FICO, the leading credit scoring company, will host "Score A Better Future" for Newark, NJ residents.

“Score A Better Future,” the national event series led by FICO, is coming to Newark, NJ in an interactive conference format on Thursday, May 20 from 12:00-1:15pm EST.
The event series focuses on helping consumers improve their understanding of their credit and overall financial health. Consumers will learn from credit experts what the key ingredients are that make up the FICO® Score, and the myths and facts about FICO Scores, which are used by 90 percent of top lenders.
Whether you are new to credit, preparing to purchase a home, planning your retirement, or concerned about protecting your financial health from the impact of the COVID virus, knowledge is power. You will learn firsthand from FICO experts what are the key ingredients in the FICO® Score, common characteristics of consumers that are FICO® Score high-achievers and get your questions answered.

This free interactive session led by FICO will also cover the myths and facts about FICO® Scores and how to build and protect your credit. Score A Better Future events are completely free. Capacity is limited, so we highly recommend that you register online now to reserve your spot.
The event will also host guest speaker, Senator Bob Menendez. Senator Bob Menendez grew up the son of Cuban immigrants in a tenement building in Union City and has risen to become one of 100 United States Senators. He currently serves as Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and is also a senior member of the Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee, where he also serves as Chairman of the Subcommittee on Securities, Insurance and Investment. As a member of the Banking Committee, Senator Menendez has championed increased consumer protection and corporate accountability, fairness in lending, affordable housing, and comprehensive approaches to community revitalization. In addition, Senator Menendez serves as a member of the Finance Committee, where he has sponsored legislation increasing access to health care, advocated for fairness in the tax code to help middle class families get college educations and be able to retire, and pushed for trade initiatives to ensure America’s global competitiveness.

Additionally, FICO has partnered with Operation HOPE to provide attendees with the opportunity to make appointments for free one-on-one credit coaching from non-profit financial well-being coaches to help attendees develop a plan to address their financial goals.
