Hour-Long Newark Airport Delays Reported Due To Weather

Travelers in the area might want to keep an eye on the Thursday weather forecast for possible snow, according to the Port Authority OEM.

NEWARK, NJ — Commuters flying through Newark Liberty International Airport encountered significant delays on Tuesday due to the weather, authorities said.

According to the FAA's Air Traffic Control System Command Center, some flights arriving at Newark Airport encountered delays up to an hour on Tuesday due to “weather/wind.”

Officials at Springfield-Branson National Airport in Missouri announced a “ground stop” at Newark Airport on Tuesday afternoon due to local weather. Airport officials at Springfield-Branson recommended that commuters flying between the two areas check with their airlines for their flight status.

Travelers in the area might also want to keep an eye on the Thursday weather forecast, according to Port Authority OEM officials.

“All eyes are on the potential snow in Thursday's forecast,” the OEM stated. “If you must commute or travel on Thursday, plan ahead.”
