Irvington Man Fatally Shot In Newark; No Arrests Made: Police

Police continue to probe a fatal shooting that claimed the life of a 23-year-old man in Essex County.

NEWARK, NJ — Police continue to investigate a fatal shooting that claimed the life of a 23-year-old Irvington resident in Newark early Monday morning.

Tyzier White, 23, of Irvington, was shot in the area of Campbell Street and University Avenue in Newark. He was He was transported to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 12:50 a.m., according to a joint statement from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Newark Public Safety Department.

No arrests have been made, police said Monday afternoon.

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force, which includes detectives from the Newark Police Department, is investigating the fatal shooting.
