Newark 2021 Summer Camp Guide: See What’s Happening

NEWARK, NJ — After a year when too many traditions have had to be canceled for coronavirus safety, several summer camps for kids are back on this year. The state has issued updated guidance on how these camps can safely operate during the coronavirus pandemic.

There are a range of options to keep the kids busy this summer around Newark.

Here's a look at some of the camps planned around Newark for summer 2021. Click on the links for registration information:

• Newark Board of Education Summer Programs - July 1 to August 6
• Newark Museum of Art Virtual Camp 2021 - Build community through project-based classes. Campers will participate in two 45-minute live Zoom classes per day with Google Classroom check-ins throughout the week.
• YMCA Summer Day Camp - games and sports to arts and crafts to outdoor adventures to science and technology

In addition, the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark is holding virtual summer programs that include:

• hip hop arts & culture
• musical theater
• geri allen jazz camp
• city verses virtual summer camp
