Newark Church Kicks Off Speaker Series To Help Build Families
The speaker series at Metropolitan Baptist Church in Newark will help people refocus on "self, family and community."

Beginning Wednesday, July 10, Metropolitan Baptist Church will launch a four-week speaker series aimed at encouraging people to refocus on building better communities; by refocusing on self and family and community. The series is entitled, "PURSUE - GO GET YOUR FAMILY CRUSADE. Tomorrow's message and concert will feature nationally recognized Bishop Hezekiah Walker, followed by Reverend Jerry Carter, Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Morristown on July 17 and Pastor Jamal Bryant from the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia, on July 21. All programs begin at 7 p.m. and will be held at Metropolitan Baptist Church located at 149 Springfield Avenue in Newark. On July 31, Metropolitan will host a special program for youth with a Special Youth and Young Adult Concert.

Reverend David Jefferson Sr. said, "Now is the time to come together around the word to position ourselves to use the tools in order to deliver greatness in everything we do...how we treat ourselves, how we raise our children and how we pour into our communities." Reverend Jefferson continued, "It is never the time to focus on the problem, instead we must go forward to focus on the promise. Never make the problem bigger than the promise - through this series of three nationally recognized and respected ministers, we want to equip you with the tools to do better and be better."
