World Homeless Day is a global event scheduled every Oct. 10. It brings individuals together to find ways to change the lives of homeless people in their community. It's also a time to draw attention to the needs of the homeless on a local level. Approximately 150 million people around the world don't have a home. NESF is partnering with the following agencies to provide services such as housing, medical screenings, HIV/AIDS testing, substance abuse treatment, food and counseling during the NESF Day of Service.

Patch has partnered with Feeding America to help raise awareness on behalf of the millions of Americans facing hunger. Feeding America, which supports 200 food banks across the country, estimates that in 2020, more than 54 million Americans will not have enough nutritious food to eat due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic. This is a Patch social good project; Feeding America receives 100 percent of donations. Find out how you can donate in your community or find a food pantry near you.
