“The Rev. Egionor Cunha, 53, entered into eternal life on January 11th at Allendale Nursing Home.

“Born February 28, 1962 in Brazil he was a Roman Catholic Priest of the Archdiocese of Newark. Ordained on May 30, 1992 by the Most Rev. Theodore E. McCarrick at the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Newark, he had several Parochial Vicar positions within the archdiocese.

“He was Parochial Vicar at St. Theresa, Kenilworth, Our Lady of Fatima, Newark, St. Cecilia, Kearny, St. Mary of the Assumption, Elizabeth, St. Joseph of the Palisades, West New York & Blessed Sacrament, Elizabeth. In addition, he had once been a chaplain at St. Elizabeth Hospital & Bergen Regional Medical Center.”
