Newark Pedestrian Killed In Car Strike; Driver Not Charged: PD
A 54-year-old Newark resident died after she was hit by a car. The driver remained at the scene, authorities said.
NEWARK, NJ — A pedestrian died after a car hit her in Newark on Tuesday morning, authorities said.
Adrian Bradford, 54, of Newark, was walking in the middle of the street on the 600-block of Frelinghuysen Avenue around 3 a.m., when she was struck by a Toyota Sienna, according to a joint statement from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Newark Public Safety Department.
Bradford was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:38 a.m., authorities said.

The driver remained at the scene, police stated.
The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Newark Police Department are investigating the death. The driver has not been charged with a crime, authorities said Wednesday.
