Missing, 13-Year-Old Girl In Newark Found Safe, Police Say

NEWARK, NJ -- UPDATE: Joanne Morrison has been found unharmed, Newark police said Saturday. Our original article follows below.

Police are asking for the public’s help finding Joanne Morrison, 13, of Newark, who was reported missing Wednesday.

According to the Newark Department of Public Safety, Morrison was last seen at 7:30 a.m. in the area of Montclair Avenue. She is 5 feet 4 inches and 130 pounds, with a light skin complexion, red hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black shirt and black shorts. She also has a nose piercing.

Morrison has run away in the past, police said.

"While police are actively searching for Joanne, we seek the public’s help in quickly locating her so that she can be returned to her family," authorities said.
