Newark Student Earns His Way Into 7 Ivy League Schools
Yale. Harvard. Cornell. These are just a few of the seven Ivy League universities that an inspiring Newark teen will get to pick from.
NEWARK, NJ — Yale. Harvard. Cornell. These are just a few of the seven Ivy League schools that an inspiring Newark teen has earned his way into, his alma mater says.
On Wednesday, the Newark Board of Education announced that Janic Aguirre, a class of 2021 student at Bard Early College High School, has been accepted into some of the most prestigious universities in the nation.
The list includes Harvard University, Princeton University, Yale University, Columbia University, Dartmouth College, Cornell University, University of Pennsylvania and Tulane University.

“This achievement goes beyond our wildest dreams as we root on all of our students as future leaders and game changers in the world,” the board said, congratulating Aguirre on social media. “The NPS community couldn’t be any prouder of Mr. Aguirre’s tremendous accomplishment. We wish you all of the best and much continued success.”
Aguirre isn't alone in his awesome achievement. Another Essex County teen recently earned his way into seven Ivy League colleges, amassing a list of 15 acceptance letters during his senior year at Bloomfield High School.
