Newark Victim, 16, Dies In Shooting; No Arrests Made: Police
Authorities are investigating a shooting that claimed the life of a 16-year-old victim in Newark.
NEWARK, NJ — Authorities are investigating a shooting that claimed the life of a 16-year-old victim in Newark on Sunday.
Jarrod Lawson of Newark was fatally shot on the 500-block of 15th Avenue, according to a joint statement from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Newark Department of Public Safety.
Lawson was transported to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.

No arrests have been made as of Sunday, police said.
The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force, which includes detectives from the Newark Police Department, is investigating the shooting.
