Newark authorities asked for the public's help finding a missing, 63-year-old woman who has been diagnosed with schizophrenia.

Newark authorities are asking for the public’s help finding a missing woman who has been diagnosed with schizophrenia.

According to the Newark Department of Public Safety, Seleena Young, 63, of Newark, was reported missing Tuesday.

Newark police said:

“Young, diagnosed as schizophrenic, was last seen around 7 a.m. wearing a blue sweatshirt and black slacks when she was reported missing from the 100-block of Ballantine Parkway. Described as 5 feet 2 inches and 120 pounds, Young has brown eyes, a light skin complexion and a salt and pepper-colored afro.”

Anyone with information on Young’s whereabouts can call the Police Division's 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). Anonymous tips can also be made using the Police Division’s website at www.newarkpublicsafety.org or via its smartphone app.
