DeVito, who was born in Neptune Township and raised in Asbury Park, is well-known for his Garden State roots. The star of Taxi,” “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” “Twins” and “Batman Returns” was inducted into the New Jersey Hall of Fame in 2010.

According to the New Jersey Institute for Social Justice (NJISJ), which is based in Newark, the nonpartisan video offers vital tips such as how to vote in the election, how to fill out a paper ballot, where to place your signature, and where/how to deliver your vote to make sure it’s received.

There’s also a version of the video for New Jersey registered voters who speak Spanish as a first language, although it doesn't feature DeVito.

“We’re living in extraordinary times, facing challenges we haven’t faced before,” said Henal Patel, director of the Democracy and Justice Program at the NJISJ.

“Like everything else, voting looks different this year,” Patel said. “But as we face one of the most urgent elections of our lifetimes, it's more important than ever that we get it right.”

Other groups that helped to produce the video thanked DeVito for taking part and getting the vote out in New Jersey.

Patty Cronheim, New Jersey League of Conservation Voters – “With so much on the line in this election, New Jersey LCV Education Fund and our partners wanted to create a clear and fun way to give the people of New Jersey the information they need to vote this year. Democracy only works if we all participate. We want everyone to know that paper ballot voting is safe and secure, they don’t have to wait - vote as soon as they can, and most importantly everyone’s vote matters. We are also super excited that Danny DeVito generously offered to narrate the animation and are extremely grateful to him for helping us get the vote out in New Jersey!”

Jesse Burns, League of Women Voters of New Jersey – “The League of Women Voters is thrilled to partner with other organizations to ensure that New Jersey voters get factual, nonpartisan voting information this election season. Every voter should make a voting plan, selecting one of the many options they have to cast a ballot, and then encourage their friends and family to do the same.”

Sue Altman, Working Families – “This is the most important election of our lifetime. It’s crucial voters know that ‘Vote At Home’ is easy, safe, and secure. The more folks who vote, the stronger our democracy is!”

Ed Potosnak, New Jersey LCV Education Fund – “This election is the most important in recent history on the local and national levels. We really appreciate Mr. DeVito joining in on this important effort and all the work of our partners to help educate New Jerseyans on how to vote in this year’s election amid a pandemic.”
