NJ Transit Bus Hits Toll Plaza On Turnpike In Newark

A NJ Transit bus hit a toll plaza on the New Jersey Turnpike. No passengers were aboard, and the driver wasn't hurt, authorities said.

NEWARK, NJ — A NJ Transit bus hit a toll plaza on the New Jersey Turnpike on Thursday, authorities said.

A bus traveling on the #113 route “made contact” with a toll plaza as it headed west on I-78 in Newark at 7:25 a.m., a NJ Transit spokesperson said.

No passengers were aboard at the time, and the driver wasn’t hurt, authorities said.

Another car was involved; there were no injuries to the driver, authorities stated.

The incident took place as weather forecasters warned about potentially hazardous roads amid a winter storm, which may dump several inches of snow across New Jersey.
