WATCH: Obama, BLM Founder Join Newark Mayor At Forum On Policing
Barack Obama, Alicia Garza and Ras Baraka spoke about "unprecedented" activism since the murder of George Floyd at a virtual event.

NEWARK, NJ — Former president Barack Obama joined #BlackLivesMatter co-founder Alicia Garza, Newark Mayor Ras Baraka and other community leaders for a virtual event on Wednesday.
According to city officials, the forum – “A Conversation With President Obama” – was held to discuss the “unprecedented” levels of activism since the murder of George Floyd a year ago in Minneapolis. The conversation also included an overview of the “work that remains,” and the “importance of reimagining policing and public safety.”
