Renowned Poets Performing at Newark's Dodge Poetry Festival

The 15th annual festival, heading to The Brick City for the third year in a row, includes a celebration of late Newark poet Amiri Baraka.

The 2014 Geraldine R. Dodge Poetry Festival will feature dozens of internationally acclaimed poets when it returns to Newark this year. 

The fifteenth annual festival is scheduled to be held October 23-26  at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center.

North America’s largest poetry festival includes readings, performances and conversations by some of the leading voices in contemporary poetry.

Former U.S. Poet Laureates Billy Collins, Rita Dove and Robert Pinsky; and Richard Blanco, Barack Obama’s second inaugural poet; Pulitzer Prize winners Yusef Komunyakaa, Sharon Olds, and Gary Snyder; National Book Award winner Mark Doty and many others.

Program highlights include a celebration of the late Newark poet Amiri Baraka and performances by Brick City Voices, emerging poets, and military veterans.
