NEWARK, NJ — Dozens of children going through rough patches in their lives recently got a chance to take a flight from Newark Airport to the “North Pole” to meet Santa Claus.
For more than three decades, United Airlines has been bringing holiday cheer to children in need from around the world by taking them on a special trip to see Santa.
Last week, 45 children boarded a holiday-themed plane at a “hidden gate” at Newark Airport. They landed at a special destination – the "North Pole" – where a day of games, treats and fun awaited.

“It’s incredibly rewarding seeing the joy that Fantasy Flights bring to the families who join us. United has a real opportunity to make a difference in these children’s lives, and we put so much heart into making every moment special from check-in to landing at the North Pole and receiving gifts from Santa,” the company stated, thanking its employees for “fueling the flight with love.”
