Whoopi Goldberg Gives Kudos To Newark Hospital Workers

VIDEO: "This is not what you signed on for... I'm sure a lot of people want to say thank you."

NEWARK, NJ — Doctors, nurses and staff at University Hospital in Newark got a well-deserved round of applause from actor Whoopi Goldberg on Tuesday.

Goldberg offered a video thank-you to workers at the busy hospital, who have been serving on the frontline of the coronavirus crisis.

“This is not what you signed on for,” Goldberg said, praising the hospital’s staff for doing their best despite a shortage of equipment. “I’m sure a lot of people want to say thank you.”

“Our staff is working hard day in and day out,” University Hospital administrators wrote. “It's nice to receive a word of thanks during this time. Kudos to an area resident for sharing words of encouragement for our employees.”
