8 Fraud Complaints, 2 Drug Arrests: New Milford Police Activity

NEW MILFORD — The New Milford police received a total of eight complaints of fraud over the last two weeks, according to police.

One Demarest Avenue resident claimed they lost $6,000 in a Verizon scam, last Monday. Another, of Cherry Street, said also on Monday that she was scammed out of $1000 on a dating website.

Here's the full police blotter from the last two weeks:

On April 15: A 43-year-old man from Montvale was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and having an open warrant following a motor vehicle stop.

On April 15: A resident from Luhmann Drive said that someone had altered checks that he had mailed.

On April 16: A Boulevard resident reported that she was scammed out of $4,000 after receiving a phone call about her Amazon account.

On April 17: A resident from Congress Street resident reported that young people threw eggs at his house.

On April 19: A resident from Luhmann Drive reported that someone threw eggs at her house.

On April 20: A resident from Reichelt Road said someone filed an unemployment claim in his name.

On April 20: A 24-year-old man from Little Ferry was arrested and charged with possession of drugs and traffic violations following a motor vehicle stop. He was released with a court date in CJP Court.

On April 22: A resident from Luhmann Drive said one of his checks was stolen and someone was attempting to access his bank account.

On April 23: A Berkley Street resident reported that someone filed an unemployment claim in his name.

On April 23: A Graphic Boulevard resident reported ongoing harassment by another resident from the area. The victim was provided with a civilian complaint packet.

On April 24: Officers were called to the corner of Hoffman Avenue and Mabie Street on a report of someone who was intoxicated and injured. That person was taken to the New Bridge Medical Center.

On April 24: A Faller Drive resident reported that someone was using her EZ Pass account.

On April 28: A Princeton Street resident reported that someone filed an unemployment claim in his name.

On April 28: A Madison Avenue resident reported that medication was stolen from his vehicle.
