Board of Ed To Fill Drake's Seat With Appointment

Dan Conner assumes role of Board President, Paige Ryan, Vice President.

With the resignation of Board of Education President Darren Drake, Superintendent Michael Polizzi said that the Board will appoint a person to fill his seat.

"The Board accepted the resignation of Darren Drake with regret," Polizzi told Patch. 

Drake is stepping down due to the fact that his company is relocating and he will be moving with them.

Drake told Patch, "After giving it much thought, I decided to resign because the district deserves 100 percent of my attention, and I expect no less of myself," Drake said. "Given the requirements of my job, I cannot possibly devote the same amount of attention to my duties on the Board. Therefore, I feel that the right decision is to step down."

Polizzi said that the Board is aware of a number of people interested in being appointed to fill Drake's seat.

"We will be meeting with candidates and will make a determination shortly," he said.

Dan Conner will assume the role of Board President, a position he previously held, and Paige Ryan will assume the role of Vice President.
