BOE Soliciting Candidates to Fill Vacated Board Seat

Letters of intent must be received by the Board of Ed office by Monday, June 24.

The New Milford Board of Education (BOE) announced that they are soliciting candidates to fill the seat vacated by former BOE president, Darren Drake. Drake resigned his seat due to the fact that his company is relocating.

During Monday's meeting, BOE Business Administrator, Michael Sawicz, announced that the Board is accepting letters of intent from anyone interested in applying to be considered for appointment to Drake’s seat. All letters must be received by the Board no later than Monday, June 24.

The person chosen by the Board will serve until Dec. 31. The remainder of Drake's term will be filled by the candidate elected in the Nov. 5 election. The board member-elect will begin serving Jan. 2014.
