Local Dance Studios Come Together for Annual Benefit Performance
Benefit Dance Performance for a local girl battling cancer. Saturday May 6th, 7pm Mahwah High School

For the sixth year in a row, on the evening of Saturday, May 6th at 7:00 PM, Infinite Motion Performing Arts Academy of Mahwah, NJ along with Center Stage Dane Studio of Paramus, NJ, Planet Dance of West Milford, NJ and East coast Dance Company of Sea Girt, NJ will take the stage at Mahwah High School for the annual benefit performance.
This year's benefit is entitled Grace and Beauty: Dancers Coming Together For Ava - Raising Awareness for Medulloblastoma. This year’s performance will support 9-year old Ava Gottlieb, a student at Infinite Motion Performing Arts Academy who is battling Medulloblastoma, a cancerous tumor that originates at the base of the skull and is the most common malignant brain tumor in children.
Dancers from all across New Jersey are taking the stage to share their passion for performance to raise awareness of this disease that has hit all too close to home. Instructors and dancers have donated their time and contributed their work for what promises to be a heartfelt and passionate performance. There will be a Silent Auction with items donated by local businesses and a Bake Sale with refreshments available for purchase as provided by our studio families. Proceeds from all monies raised along with the admission donations will go to the Gottlieb family. Colony Florist of Franklin Lakes will be donating plants to decorate the stage for the event. Alpha Graphics of Mahwah will be printing the programs for the event as a donation. Multiple organizations will be sponsoring the cost of the theatre rental. Infinite Motion also has a full crew volunteering their time for the cause, from stage management to lights and sound.

“Year over, we take great pride in being able to bring so many students together to support a worthy cause, but this year's benefit is particularly dear to us as it affects one of our own students," said Infinite Motion's Artistic Director, Colleen Cross. "She is small child, with a big passion for dance. Having this outlet is a beautiful thing for her to be a part of, and us to have the privilege of calling her one of our students. Our annual benefits mean so much to us to give back and raise awareness for whatever the cause chosen and to get our message out through dance.” The children, parents, staff and families of the studios come together to truly make a difference - not to win that platinum trophy, not to place in competition 1st overall, but because as a team, and as a support, giving back is the ultimate win.
Tickets are available in advance at all participating studios, as well as at the door; admission is a $15.00 donation and doors open at 6:30 PM at Mahwah High School.
