Rao's donates 2,400 jars of sauce to Bergen County food charity
200 cases delivered by Rao's Homemade® to The Food Brigade at Calvary Church in Dumont
DUMONT, NJ - Bergen County residents dealing with food insecurity will be receiving an unexpected gift from a local pasta sauce company.
Rao's Homemade®, which sells the pasta sauce made famous by the iconic New York City restaurant, has donated 200 cases of its product to Bergen County based hunger-relief charity The Food Brigade Inc.
Rao's delivered two shipments, consisting of a total of 2,400 jars of sauce, to The Food Brigade and its host, Calvary United Methodist Church in Dumont. Several Food Brigade volunteers were on hand to unload the shipments along with the charity's president, Karen DeMarco.

“Demonstrating support for our surrounding community is extremely important to Rao's Homemade always, but especially during this time," said Denise Titus of Sovos Brands/Rao's Specialty Foods Inc. in Montclair. "We are honored to partner with The Food Brigade to bring sauce to many of those in need. The Food Brigade's work during this time of crisis is admirable and inspiring."
The Food Brigade is distributing the sauce to its clients and to a number of other local food pantries and network distribution partners.
