Volunteers Tee Off to Raise $41K for Autism Foundation

The New Providence-based Drive for Autism Foundation raised nearly $41,000 with its annual golf event, Drive for Autism XII, held at Royce Brook Golf Club in Hillsborough on Sept. 16.

The golf outing has raised and distributed $500,000 to local school programs since its inception in 2002.

Grant recipients use money to fund health and fitness programs, social skills programs, educational curriculum and teacher training, a van for community trips and transportation to job training centers, laptop computers, computer touch screens, iPads, video projectors and educational toys and games

The Drive for Autism Foundation is a tax-exempt public charity that was created in the spring of 2002 to raise and distribute funds for educational facilities specializing in students with autism.
