1,500 Participate In Annual Rubin Run To Help Residents With Special Needs

Annual run raises money for the Kaplen JCC on the Palisade's special needs programs.

More than 1,500 people hit the pavement to support the special needs programs at the Kaplen JCC on the Palisade in the annual Rubin Run, NorthJersey.com reported.

The run, now in its 34th year, is an annual Mother’s Day tradition. The event offers 5K, 10K, or half-marathon options through Tenafly, Englewood, and Englewood Cliffs.

The run is named for the late Leonard Rubin, a past president and founder of the JCC. He helped establish the annual event. The JCC offers 70 monthly programs, including summer camps and afterschool programs, that help equip Bergen County residents diagnosed with special needs with the life and vocational skills they need to live more productive, meaningful lives.
