Academies Students, Teacher Honored With Governor's Awards in Arts Education

JoAnn Onnembo won the Clare Flanagean Grand Award for Youth Art Month.

Several Bergen County Academies students and a teacher were honored with Governor’s Awards in Arts Education recently.

Caitlin Chan received a gold medal for poetry in the high school writing content and David Jansen won a multidiscipline Arts Education Award.

Teacher JoAnn Onnembo received the Clare Flanagan Grand Award for Youth Art Month.

The awards, now in their 35th year, recognize the best arts students and educators for creativity, talent, and leadership from across the state.
