OAKLAND, NJ — A cat is available for adoption after her owner fled from domestic violence.

Arielle was surrendered to the Oakland-based Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge because her owner was not able to keep her after leaving, the refuge said.

Arielle is a Pixie-Bob, and has a "bobbed" tail, the refuge said. It is thought that this breed of cat started after a stray cat and a bobcat produced a litter of kittens decades ago.
