OAKLAND, NJ — While people were popping champagne and having fun New Year's Eve, a little dog almost died.

Buttons was hit by a car and rescued by the Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge (RBAR) in Oakland.

Buttons suffered a broken leg and pelvis.

RBAR is a nonprofit that works to rescue and care for injured dogs, cats, and other animals and find them permanent homes.
