Former Oakland Mayor Turns Restaurateur, Rail Yard Tavern to Open

Oakland can look forward to a new dining option in the area from a name it knows. Former Mayor Bob Piccoli will open a restaurant with Susan McLaughlin on Wednesday in Fair Lawn, the Oakland Journal reported.

The new eatery, the Railyard Tavern, will be open for lunch and dinner and includes a bar. Its menu features a full menu plus pizza and specialty sandwiches, the article said.

The Railyard Tavern will hold its official grand opening Wednesday at 2 p.m. The restaurant is located at 14-22 and 14-26 Plaza Road North in Fair Lawn. 

Piccoli was Oakland's mayor from 2000-2004.
