Before retiring, he worked for Public Service Electric & Gas.
He was a member of Franklin Lakes United Methodist Church.

He was predeceased by his wife Louise and brother Edward.
He is survived by his daughter Linda, and her husband, Michael Leeder; daughter Denice Kopko; son Glenn Johnson; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in his name.
