Holy Name Medical Center Invites Oakland Towns to Wellness Challenge
A total of 28 towns have joined the challenge, which also targets weight loss and walking.

From Holy Name Medical Center:
Residents from 28 towns and cities in Bergen County are invited to join the third, annual Holy Name Medical Center Wellness Challenge, which begins the spring season. The challenge is sponsored by the Community Health Improvement Partnership’s Nutrition and Physical Activity Task Force as well as local health officers. The challenge varies from town to town with some offering weekly weigh-ins and educational seminars, while other towns are offering walking or fruit and vegetable contests. Many towns will offer a final prize drawing for eligible participants. The programs are supported through partnerships of local health departments, town councils, fitness centers, supermarkets, YMCAs, community organizations and other local businesses and will run for eight to 12 weeks. This campaign supports positive changes in diet, exercise, and overall health. Interested individuals must contact Marla Klein at mklein@co.bergen.nj.us with questions.
Participating sites include Bergenfield, Edgewater, Cliffside Park, Englewood, Fair Lawn, Franklin Lakes, Garfield, Hackensack, Haworth, Maywood, Midland Park, Oakland, Paramus, Park Ridge, Ramsey, Ridgewood, Upper Saddle River, Waldwick, Wyckoff and the Meadowlands Area YMCA for Carlstadt, East Rutherford, Little Ferry, Lyndhurst, Moonachie, Rutherford, North Arlington, Wallington and Wood-Ridge.
