OAKLAND, NJ — A fire broke out late morning on Tuesday, at a home in Ramapo Valley Road, in Oakland, according to the Oakland Police Department.

All the residents were able to safely leave the house before first responders arrived, without any injuries.

However, two firefighters were transported to local hospitals due to suspected heat exhaustion, police said.
Ramapo Valley Road was closed temporarily between Navajo Way and Franklin Avenue, but has since been reopened.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation but was not considered suspicious by authorities.
Members of the Oakland, Franklin Lakes, Mahwah, Pompton Lakes, and Wyckoff Fire Departments responded along with the Oakland, Franklin Lakes, Wyckoff, and Mahwah First Aid Squads.
