For the second time in a week, staff at the Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge have found kittens left at their door after hours.
OAKLAND, NJ —Twice in one week, kittens and money were left outside the Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge after hours.
Three kittens and $200 in an envelope were left at the Oakland-based refuge about midnight Thursday, said Megan Brinster, the refuge's executive director.
Written on the envelope was, "Friendly but scared, found running around strip mall parking lot," Brinster said. The kittens were huddled together in a pet carrier that was taped shut.

A refuge staff member Oct. 17 found two kittens and $50 inside a sealed diaper box outside the back door of the dog kennel, Brinster said. Those kittens, named Ember and Apricat, are in a foster home being syringe fed. They are available for adoption.
Brinster asked that anyone with information about the kittens email adoptlove@rbari.org. Anyone interested in adopting them can apply online at rbar.org.
