Knit & Purl with Friends at Oakland Library's Monthly Knitting Club

The club offers assistance from certified knitting teacher Lenora Meyer on the first Monday of each month.

The old home craft of knitting is becoming all the rage, and the place to knit and purl to your heart's content is the Oakland Public Library.

On the first Monday of each month from 6-8 p.m., knitters of all levels gather at the library for the Knitting Club. The idea is for beginning and experienced hobbyists to get together to share, learn together and have fun. If you have knitting projects in progress, bring them along. Certified knitting teacher Lenora Meyer will be on hand to lend assistance.

Registration is recommended for the club, which has its next meeting on Feb. 3. Call 201-337-3742. The library is at 2 Municipal Plaza in Oakland.
