Oakland Mayor's Race Was Very Close This Year

There were races for mayor and 2 Borough Council seats.

OAKLAND, NJ — The results of the 2019 Oakland municipal elections are in.

Incumbent Linda Schwager, a Democrat, ran against Eric Kulmala, a Republican. Those results were:

Schwager: 1,588
Kulmala: 1,525

Republicans Robert Knapp Jr. and Grant Van Eck and Democrat Thomas Connolly ran for two Borough Council seats. Those results were:

Knapp Jr.: 1,814
Van Eck: 1,557
Connolly: 1,428

Judith Sullivan ran unopposed for an unexpired term on the regional board of education. Sullivan received 798 votes.
