Oakland Mayor Celebrates Read Across America Day with CTC Academy

Thank you to Oakland Mayor and Friend of CTC Academy, Linda Schwager, for sharing the joy of reading with our students

Thank you to Oakland Mayor and Friend of CTC Academy, Linda Schwager, for sharing the joy of reading with our students on Wednesday, March 6th. To the delight of Ms. Dana’s class, Mayor Schwager read Dr. Seuss's I Can Read With My Eyes Shut, in celebration of Read Across America Day. Read Across America Day is an annual reading event launched in 1997 by the National Education Association in celebration of the birthday of Dr. Seuss. The annual reading day looks to encourage students to read and be read to, and have fun while doing so.

CTC Academy is a private non-profit school and therapy center which has been serving children with disabilities – ages 18 months through 21 years of age – in Bergen County for over 68 years. Our Oakland Campus serves children and young adults ages 7 – 21.
