Credit Card Fraud Charges For Oakland Woman: Police Blotter
She was busted on surveillance operation, according to police. Here is a report of Oakland police activity from the last few days.
OAKLAND, NJ — An Oakland woman accused of credit card fraud, after officers in a surveillance operation saw her accepting a package bought with a card belonging to a Pequannock card.

On May 19: While investigating a report of a possible shoplifter at the Copper tree Mall, officer Jacob Martin located the suspect, a 40-year-old man from New York City driving on Ramapo Valley Road. Although the suspect was deemed clear of the shoplifting, it was discovered that the suspect had multiple active arrest warrants issued out of the Wayne and Millburn Municipal Courts. The offender was taken into custody without incident and later released on his own recognizance.

On May 5: While on patrol, Officer Bryan Rowin initiated a motor vehicle stop on I-287 which resulted in the arrest of an Irvington resident for multiple active warrants for her arrest issued out of the Newark, Morris Plains, and Orange Municipal Courts. The 30-year-old woman was taken into custody, processed, and later released on her own recognizance. Summonses also issued to the offender for driving with a suspended license, no liability insurance, and for having a fraudulent registration.
On May 27: The Oakland Police Departments Detective Bureau received information and a request to assist with an investigation from the Pequannock Police Department. The investigation dealt with a fraudulent charge made on a Pequannock resident’s credit card and the purchase was reportedly going to be delivered to a residence in Oakland. Police set up surveillance at a residence on Ramapo Valley Road and observed the package get delivered and accepted by the local resident. Upon further investigation, it was determined that the 44-year-old woman had received stolen property and was taken into custody without incident. After processing, the woman was released from custody and given a court date to later appear.

On May 28: While on patrol, officer Matthew Lopez initiated a motor vehicle stop on Ramapo Valley Road which resulted in the arrest of a Mahwah resident who was found to have multiple arrest warrants issued out of the Mahwah and Paterson Municipal Courts. The 25-year-old woman was taken into custody for processing and during this time it was discovered the offender had in her possession hypodermic syringes and spent glassine folds commonly used to package heroin. The offender was charged criminally for possession of drug paraphernalia, and later released on her own recognizance when the other involved agencies declined to transport her to the county jail. Summons were also issued to the woman for driving with a suspended license.
On May 28: While on patrol, officer Edward McDermott investigated a traffic accident on Ramapo Hills Boulevard which resulted in the arrest of a 55-year-old resident of Oakland for driving under the influence. The woman was processed and later released from custody to her spouse with a court date set to later appear in the Oakland Municipal Court.
