Democratic Majority Comes to Council This Week
Here's a sneak peek of what's coming up in River Dell this week

MONDAY: Happy New Year's Eve from Patch. If you are heading out into Bergen County to celebrate, save one of these taxi cab numbersto your phone just incase.
TUESDAY: All borough offices as well as both libraries will be closed until Wednesday.
WEDNESDAY:Â Why wait for summer to earn rewards for reading? Join the Paramus Library winter reading program and earn rewards now! Earn a sticker for every book you report. For every 10 stickers (or 250 pages) you can choose either a sweet treat or a prize from their treasure chest. When you have read10 books (or 250 pages) you will receive a free book. Anyone who reads at least 10 books (or 250 pages) will be entered into a Grand Prize Raffle! Any reading club member who has reported at least once by March 1 will receive a special reward.

THE WEEKEND: On Sunday, 1pm, Council-elects Patsy Verile and Donna Warburton will be sworn in to their council seats, giving Paramus its first Democratic majority in the past few years.Â
Verile is the Community Outreach Associate at Berkeley College, where he is responsible for managing budgets and employees while Warburton is the Community Liaison at Tiffany & Co. at The Shops at Riverside, Hackensack.

Hockey is at the Ice House on Jan. 5, 6:45pm to face the Mahwah Thunderbirds.
Boys basketball is away on Jan. 2, 7pm at Mahwah and returns home the following day at 5:30pm to face Ridgewood.
Girls basketball is in Ridgewood on Jan. 3, 7pm and then in Glen Rock on Jan. 5.
Swimming has back-to-back meets stargting with Indian Hills at BCC on Jan. 3, 8pm before heading to Passaic on Jan. 4, 5:15pm.
Wrestling will face tough competition on Jan. 4, 7pm when the Demarest Norsemen are in town.
Paramus Catholic
Wrestling will host Pasack Hills, Jan. 2, 7pm and head into Ghost-territory to face Paterson-Eastside on Jan. 4.
Winter Track & Field heads to Fairleigh Dickinson University for the Tom Zaccone Invitational on Jan. 3, 4pm.
Boys Basketball hosts St. Joseph Regional on Jan. 3, 7pm and Fair Lawn on Jan. 5, 1pm. THe Paladins are on the road on Jan. 6 to Kean College to face Marist.
Girls Basketball will be at John F. Kennedy High School to face Woodlands on Jan. 4, 4:30pm and at Kean College on Jan. 6, 7pm against Roselle Catholic.
Swimming dives into Bergen Community College poll against Pascack Valley on Jan. 5, 1pm.
Ice Hockey is away in Bayonne to face the Bees on Jan. 4, 7pm and again on Jan. 5, 2:45pm against Ridgewood.
