Chakra - Italian Wine Dinner

On Monday, April 8 Chakra is hosting a wine dinner with La Spinetta from Piedmont, Italy, which also has a vineyard in Tuscany. Founded in 1977, La Spinetta has been known for their Moscato d’Asti, which was the first wine made by the winery and also the first single-vineyard Moscato ever made in Italy.

Soon after, La Spinetta started also making reds, Barbera, Barbaresco and Barolo, and a few years ago, for its 30th anniversary, added a vineyard in Tuscany where a still white wine is made. The dinner provides an opportunity to enjoy wines from one of the best-known Italian wine producers from two of Italy’s most famous wine regions: Piedmont and Tuscany.

The reception starts at 6:30pm with hors d’oeuvres and an elderflower cocktail made with a white vermouth from La Spinetta’s portfolio. A four-course dinner will follow with Chef Thomas Ciszak’s house-cured Mangalitsa pig lardo paired with Vermentino from Tuscany to start, followed by branzino fish course with Barbera d’Asti, a leg of lamb with Barolo and for the finale a dessert with La Spinetta’s famous Moscato.
