Open House and Public Information Meeting for the Bergen County Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Implementation Study

The public is invited to an Open House and information meeting about the Bergen County Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Implementation Study on Wednesday, February 27, 2013, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the Paramus campus of Bergen Community College. The study is looking at how to improve the quality and attractiveness of bus service in and around Bergen County, and BRT is a prime option for making buses more reliable, faster, and more convenient.

The study is a joint project of the Bergen County Department of Planning & Economic Development and NJTRANSIT. With very limited opportunities to expand the capacity of our highways and the need to serve new destinations, Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) is a customer focused, innovative, and effective way to create new mobility options. The Bergen County BRT Implementation Study will define the vision for tomorrow’s advanced bus service for Bergen County in partnership with local communities and residents.

During the Open House portion of the program, from 6:30 to 7:15 pm and 8:00 to 8:30 pm, people may view information about the study and speak with study team members. From 7:15 to 8:00 pm, there will be a presentation. The meeting will be held at Bergen Community College in Conference Room D, Moses Center, located at 400 Paramus Road, Paramus, NJ.
