Former Paramus Man Found Dead Near Petruska Park

Police believe the man died from a self-inflicted gun shot wound.

A 56-year old man was found dead Tuesday afternoon near Petruska Park from what police believe was a self-inflicted gun shot wound, according to Paramus Police Chief Kenneth Ehrenberg.

Police are investigating but believe no foul play was involved.

According to Ehrenberg, the man was a former resident of Paramus who currently resided in New York state. His name was not released.

The man's body was found in a wooded area near a walking path in the area of Petruska Park around 4:25 p.m. Tuesday, said the Chief.  Police were responding to a call that a male had been injured in that area, said Ehrenberg.

A weapon was found at the scene, the chief said.
