Free Tree Seedlings In Paramus Sunday: Here’s How To Get Yours

PARAMUS, NJ — About 112,500 free tree seedlings will soon be available to New Jersey residents in 128 towns — including Paramus — as part of an ongoing partnership between the New Jersey Tree Recovery Campaign, State Forest Service and the nonprofit Arbor Day Foundation.

The Paramus tree seedling giveaway will take place at the Paramus bandshell behind the library April 23 from noon to 3 p.m. Residents are eligible to receive up to five free seedlings. Proof of residency is not required.

"The seedlings, which are about two to three feet high when distributed, should be planted promptly to ensure they take root and thrive," State Forester John Sacco said. "Residents should be mindful of their planting site's surroundings by avoiding overhead utility lines and proximity to structures in case of storms, and considering the size of the tree when fully grown."
