Gladys Brennan, 89, Formerly Of Paramus, Was Everyone's 'Mema'

She fundraised for the Hemophilia Foundation.

PARAMUS, NJ — Gladys Brennan, 89, of Ramsey, formerly of Paramus, died Wednesday.

She married her "rollerskating sweetheart," Edward, in 1946.

She was very active in the NY Rangers fan club and with fundraiser for the Hemophilia Foundation and the American Cancer Society. She will be remembered for being everyone's "Mema," her obituary states.

Cherished wife of the late Edward J. Brennan Sr. Beloved mother of Edward J. Brennan Jr. and his late wife Denise, Dianne Dohrenwend and her late husband Robert, Susan Desabrais and her husband Lee, and the late James T. Brennan. Mother-in-law of Patricia Insignares and her husband Jaime. Devoted grandmother of Colleen and her husband John, Traci, Stephen and his wife Cheryl, Timothy and his wife Roslyn, Shannon and her husband Michael and the late Derek and great-grandmother of Jack, Kathryn, Nathan, Liam, Zachary, Madeline, and Benjamin. Dear sister of Joan Van Iderstine, Florence Suess and the late John, Thomas, and Robert Mulligan. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.

A funeral service is Monday at 10 a.m. at Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 113 South Farview Ave., Paramus. Interment will be at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.
