John Taylor, 87, Of Paramus Helped Build Guantanamo Bay
Taylor was a 'major builder' in Bergen County.

PARAMUS, NJ — John "Jack" Joseph Taylor, 87, of Paramus, died Saturday.
He was a Navy veteran and helped build the Guantanamo Bay detention camp in Cuba and served on the USS Norton Sound. He was a 17-year member of American Legion Post 170 in Rochelle Park and was previously a member of the Freemasons, his obituary stated.
He enjoyed gardening, hunting and loved animals, the obituary stated.

He is survived by his wife Arlene (nee Tabor); children Susan, James and his wife Michele, Caroline Taylor and Kenneth Molos; in-laws Jack Tabor and his wife Carol and Emil Tabor and his wife Diane; and many loving nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 113 South Fairview Ave., Paramus at 10 a.m. Thursday. Cremation will be private.
